Sales & Business Development Representative

ROLE OVERVIEW   

The Sales and Business Development (BD) Representative is part of Corval’s commercial team. The Sales and BD Representative is responsible for driving top-line revenue with emerging pharma and biotech companies. This includes developing and executing a sales plan, generating and nurturing leads, converting leads into opportunities, conducting platform demos and winning deals. The role requires a self-starter with a “hunter” mindset and strong lead generation skills who can operate effectively in a start-up. This is an incredible opportunity to build processes and best practices at a growth-phase company while providing high-value and high-need technology-driven solutions for life sciences companies.  Engage with senior executives whose companies are developing therapies that save lives and help companies at a critical time in their growth so they can focus on developing their biopharma company.

The Sales and BD Representative will be responsible for the following:

  • Meet revenue and new customer goals by selling product licenses to new customers
  • Create and execute a territory sales plan to target ideal customers, establish a robust sales pipeline and close new customers
    • Identify target markets and target prospects (companies, decision makers, influencers)
    • Develop and implement key strategies for target markets and prospects
    • Work with the leadership team and SMEs to refine and evolve strategies for prospective customer outreach, nurturing and closing
    • Identify and qualify high-value sales leads, engage target prospects, and cultivate opportunities in sales funnel
    • Engage prospective customers with existing or new messaging that resonates with customers based on their situation/needs
    • Meet virtually with prospective customers to assess needs, present demos, and provide tailored presentations on platform value/use
  • Use and maintain CRM to prioritize, track, manage and report on all sales activities related to leads, opportunities, sales, business development, and business growth
  • Deliver custom proposals (using template) that address prospective customer needs and maximize pricing potential
  • Collaborate with Product and Customer Success team to identify, understand and address target customer business needs and objectives
  • Work closely with Marketing to define the user journey and the messaging for each stage of the customer’s buying journey
  • Use metrics to measure progress toward goals and identify areas at risk
  • Negotiate terms and pricing to enable a smooth and expedited contracting process
  • Sell net new licenses and new customers to meet or exceed sales goals
 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven Sales track record with exceptional experience in customer prospecting, development, sales, and closing deals
  • Previous experience working in biopharma with knowledge of commercialization
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, working in a startup environment, and building strategies, tactics, and processes from scratch
  • Demonstrated ability to interface, collaborate with, and present to customer stakeholders including Directors, VPs, and C-Level
  • Ability to leverage existing biopharma network and continue to grow the network to bring in new opportunities
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and customer service skills
  • Highly skilled at negotiation and closing high-level deals within the B2B SaaS environment
  • Strong collaboration skills with team members, both functionally and cross-functionally, to achieve common goals
  • Strong personal initiative and experience working with remote teams
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of the pharma/biotech market, ability to understand the customer and the unique challenges of commercial leaders
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and expertise within SaaS/Enterprise software. Startup experience a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and sales productivity tools, including best practices for use and reporting
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business or a relevant technical degree
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
